WOW, I do still have a blog ! I wasn't sure if the blog world was still up a running, I guess it does keep going even if I'm not keeping up. I hope to get back on track soon. Lots to update and tell but as my days have been lately not enough time in them. I'll just give a quick update on what's been happening......sigh...where to start???
Jonathan's healing has been slow, he's still having some pain. He really isn't himself yet, not to mention he has a virus NOW :( Like he needed to be sick, he has no color, and has lost some weight since the surgery. This surgery/sickness has really been hard on him, not what I expected. More to tell about but it will have to wait for another day.
Last week the day after Jonathan was released from the hospital I woke to sick kids. What a joy this was...NOT for them or me! Really who gets sick in summer??? This has been just crazy! William and Madison were the first to get sick awful stomach cramps, head ache, and high fever (no vomiting or diarrhea) By Friday William, Madison, and James were all sick. I took William and Wesley to the doctor Friday morning (Wesley had a blister on his foot that looked infected)
He said William's was just viral and was going around. The doctor said it would last about a week and to expect a sore throat to come. They drained fluid from Wesley's blister to do a culture. Dr. Murphy said it was impetigo caused from a bite mosquito, bug, or who knows. So he was placed on oral antibiotics and a cream for the blister. I'm thinking at this point, what other strange things can happen...with our family the possibilities are endless it seems. Now on Saturday Arthur came down with the fever and virus, so that made for a sad Father's Day weekend. Sunday morning Stephen woke to a high fever and stomach ache. My past week and a half I have given more medicine legally than the law should allow one person to give. At present count Madison and William are better 6 days later. James, Stephen, and Arthur are still fighting it. Jonathan has it the worst at this point but was the last to come down with the virus. I hope that it stops here and the rest of us stay well, I guess it's a 50/50 chance.
Monday our church started it's Vacation Bible School. This is always a very big event at our church. I can't remember a year I haven't taught and been a part of VBS. So, with the kids sick I thought this might be the year. Madison, Wesley, and I made it on Monday, I was so happy to see all those sweet faces. Today I took all the boys except Jonathan, not sure that was a great idea. It wiped James and William out, to much to fast from their sickness. Stephen seemed to do fine other than he still had a head ache. Yes, since coming home all I have thought about is hope that they didn't get someone else sick...they didn't have fevers. I can't stand when parents bringing their kids to church sick....Ugh! I don't ever want to be labeled as one of those parents! The boys even voluntarily took naps on their own today...not a good sign. So, I guess we'll see how it goes.
Now off to my piles of laundry, I'm way behind. You see I chose to blog first, it's much more fun than laundry!
Hope everyone has a blessed week.
FYI.... we had our house sprayed and our yard treated for bugs on Saturday. I pray for no more bites. Funny thing is we have never seen bugs or had bugs in all 15 years and10 months that we have lived here.
