Just another day

Today has been just another day in the life of a family of 11 staying in a hotel. We have played, relaxed, Wesley took a 3 hour nap, we have eaten "lots", and even done some laundry. Now I sit to wait for the dryer to finish and I blog :)

The motor came in this morning, thankfully. BUT when putting in the motor the housing broke...NO really! At this point you MUST laugh, we have! So, AGAIN they had to well I'll let you guess.....Order more parts! Now almost everything has been replaced. Arthur ask this morning if it wouldn't have been easier just to replace the whole generator at this point with a new one. They said no because a new one cost $6,000 and at this point they are still ahead of the game. So, we'll see what happens tomorrow. We really need to be out of here by noon and on the road. We have 22 hours of travel ahead of us, with 9 kids 2 drivers and only 2 1/2 days...and hopefully we'll get enough rest to open the store by 8:00AM Monday morning!

On a brighter note, we have had lots of down time. It has been nice to be somewhere that you really can't do anything but enjoy each other. Madison said this morning "you know this is kind of cool a longer vacation, and even with this RV problem we are still having fun". Today was the first day I see Arthur and Elizabeth needing something more constructive to do, they are our doers and truly don't know how to sit still. The rest of us have been fine. The girls bring the boys down to play on the video games and to walk out some built up energy. I guess I better tell the truth, they really don't play the games. They just sit on them and pretend they are playing. I love it that they are content with just pretending, or maybe they know we wouldn't give them quarters to play....either way their happy :)

Wesley ans William seem to be feeling better today and are fever free...YAY!

Is everyone as tired of reading these boring generator/hotel post as I am of writing them??? Well, I've had a little time on my hands so start looking for the AWESOME pictures of the first part of our trip....not the last 4 days! The question has come up would we do this all over again...YOU BET! Hands down this has been the BEST trip any of us has ever been on, and we don't regret a minute of it, not even renting the RV!

Look for pictures ......

Wow, we have talked about renting RVs before, but I'm not sure anymore that we want to. It is really nice to hear you all staying so positive about everything. I hope and pray that they get it fixed soon so you can be on your way home!

Maybe we should just get you folks back into Canada until they have gone over the RV with a fine tooth comb. Sometimes the things can run into each other that it really becomes kind of funny. Glad you can keep looking up and relying on the upper Hand to guide you through.

Of all the vacations you have been on/will go on--this will probably be the one your kids will remember and talk about the most. Even when they are 90 yrs old!:)

I hope you have a safe and quick trip home!!!

oh my goodness, I can't believe all that has been happening to your family on this vacation! It sounds like you guys are taking it all in stride and just making do with what you can- what a blessed family you are! So since this is a rented RV you're not having to pay for the replacement parts are you? I might have missed that in a previous post, but I sure hope not! Praying that everything gets fixed and you're on the road as soon as you can and home with no more incidents!

Actually, I've really been enjoying this. I think it's great that you can make the best of it. I think that secretly I would love to have some forced down time... I do know how to relax and do nothing but hubby would be a different story.
We LOVE RV travel and would put up with that just for the chance to get to travel that way.
Looking forward to pictures!

ps...you mean you are supposed to put quarters in those games? lol dont' tell Tyler!
