Last week Jonathan's doctor appointment went very well. Even though Jonathan went the whole month of December without being feed through his G-tube he held his weight. Not only did he maintain his weight he had gained weight, and is now up to 55.6 pds. The doctor was so pleased that they said Jonathan can be off his feeds for the next 6 months as long as he maintains or gains weight during this time. We'll take Jonathan back in 3 months just for a weight check, and back on July 14th for his 6 month check. This is a HUGE step, Jonathan has had his G-tube for 18 months and this is the first time he has done so well. We are in no hurry for the G-tube to be removed, and it will be sometime before that's even an option. Last time they removed it they felt that Jonathan would do just fine, so this time we are happy to take it nice and slow to make double sure. Jonathan does very well with the G-tube, but we are so excited to be free of the night time feeds. We are thrilled with his progress :)
Our prayer at this point is...
* Jonathan will continue to gain weight on his own over the next 6 months
* Jonathan won't have any illness that will set him back where he'll need feedings through his
G-tube (illness is one of the reasons that we need to keep it in as a back-up for fluids and
* Jonathan will be able to keep up his energy level without the added nutrients from the
