James 10th Birthday

Warning: this post is full of pictures and not to many words, I'm 3 birthday blog post behind. I chose to start with the most recent and work my way back....I still have Stephen's and Ruth Ella's.

We decided to celebrate James birthday a few days early and surprise him......

James party was a fishing theme, and no he doesn't know how to fish. He is hoping to learn to fly fish from his Papaw.

Can you see the fishing pole from the ceiling?....and Ruth Ella's feet sticking out in the corner...oops!

James worked at the store and he was very excited when he arrived home to see we were having his birthday! (This was the first time in 5 years we could have a real family birthday for James at home, we have been in Florida the other years.) So, this party was lots of fun to plan and make a surprise!

On the birthday menu was...
*loaded mashed potatoes
*green beans
*green a special treat

His cake was a bobber!

The little boys colored and cut out fish for decorating.

Time for fishing....well, maybe not with this bobber ;)

November 13th, was James actual birthday, and the Pauls were here visiting so we made a fun day out of it.

We started off at Coolidge Park on the river in downtown Chattanooga, it was a beautiful day.

We had a picnic lunch.....

and the kids played some football.

James still found some time to breakaway and play with Ruth Ella, she adores James! He is a wonderful big brother and very attentive to her times giving in to easily.

Then we were on to the carousel, Coolidge Park has a old restored carousel in a glassed in pavilion. Our children enjoy riding each time we visit, I believe the Pauls children liked it as well.

The day made this little girl very sleepy, after the picnic, carousel ride, and long walk across the bridge to the Tennessee Aquarium she was tuckered out!

Now it was on to see the fish, otters, sting rays, penguins, birds, butterflies, turtles, and sharks!!!!

Look they thought our kids were W-I-L-D and they caged them!!!!

James 10th birthday was fun and busy, but best of all it was chock-full of memories!

Happy Birthday again James, and welcome to double digits :-)
We love you!!!!!

Thanksgiving 2010

I know Thanksgiving 2010 has come and gone, but being truly "THANKFUL" shouldn't just happen 1 day out of the year. Our family has much to be thankful for and our hope is that we live out each day with a heart of thanksgiving and gratitude.

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving day a little differently than in several years past. We normally celebrate Thanksgiving at our home with our children, and end the day with games and dessert.

This November was very busy for us and our store was blessed with lots of grooms and boarding dogs on Thanksgiving week.....making our days full! So, this year celebrated Thanksgiving at my mother and step fathers house, with cousins, aunts, uncles, and my sweet 90 year old grandmother Nonnie....making it a very nice Thanksgiving.

We still did our share of cooking and baking, a family 0f 12 can't go anywhere empty handed :-)

Homemade apple pie....YUM!!!!

It has seemed to me fit and proper that God should be solemnly,
reverently and gratefully acknowledged,
as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people.

National Day of Thanksgiving Proclamation

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psalms 100:4).

We hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends, making many memories and remembering all the many things your thankful for!

After our Thanksgiving day celebration we went for a little drive to see this house......

The rocking Christmas house, the lights flash in beat with the tune of the music. You can sit in your nice warm car/van turn your radio to 107.5 and listen to the house music and watch the light show. This house is right across the street from a church you can pull right in the parking lot and settle in for a free fun show...we do this several times during the Christmas season because it's less than 2 miles from our house :-)

Do you all remember our Christmas giveaways last year???
Well, guess what???
We will be hosting more giveaways this Christmas season, so keep your eyes open December 1st for the first round of giveaways!!!!

On Monday morning after 13 days together the Pauls loaded up in their van and headed back to Canada....why is it always so hard to say good-bye? We had a wonderful 2 weeks of fellowship and made bunches of memories. The above group picture was taken Saturday, November 13 (James birthday) at Coolidge Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was a beautiful warm fall day with a nice breeze.

Munck/Pauls children always smiling, always having fun!!!!

We have more pictures to share, but they will have to be posted after Thanksgiving.....this has been one full and busy week so far :-)

We have been on a trip....

To the Great Smokey Mountians, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Our business is closed for the week, for our fall vacation. We packed up the van and headed out on Tuesday afternoon for our trip. This trip held more than just a time with family in the mountains, because we were also going to meet our friends the Pauls! For the past few days we have enjoyed much fellowship time, swimming, putt-putt, eating out, shopping, and just plain fun! Today we'll be returning home not alone, but with our sweet friends following behind! We have many more days ahead of fun and fellowship, we are thankful for the blessing of friendship.

Life keeps moving...

The world keeps turning and life as we know it keeps moving. Some days we can keep up with the flow of the move and others we just take it at whatever pace we can....a snail pace. As of the middle of last week the nasty stomach bug finally vacated our home, prayerfully NOT to return again! By the time the stomach bug was gone I came down with a sinus infection, that brought on a case of laryngitis. Today was the first day in a week that I have spoken and had my full voice back. Now I hope we are on to healthier days!

During all this sickness as I mentioned the world and life didn't stop. We missed out on a few fall events, and some very nice weather. What we didn't miss out on was 3 family birthdays, a family room makeover (pictures to come, hopefully by the end of the month), work on our deck in the children's play yard, school, our shop being busy, and family time. If, you intertwine all these things together you get a mix of worldly fast and snail pace slow....I much prefer the in between! I have so many post to write and play catch up, I'm so far behind. Several people have ask how I feel, I feel very well just having lots of pregnancy tired hence the lack of blogging. It's 11pm and bed is calling my name!

Hope all of you are doing well, and having a wonderful start to our Thankful month :-)
