Blog additions & Hopes of snow !?

It's Saturday already, wow! I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend, our week is ending better than it started, thankfully. We added a few new items to the sidebar of our blog. You may notice that you can now subscribe to our blog, and we have placed our family email there as well.

This morning Arthur and I ventured out to Wal-Mart to buy groceries, not something that we typically do on Saturday. But since this wasn't a typical week, we had to go and brave Wal-Mart on a weekend. We know that the Wal-Mart near our house (less than 2 miles) is always crazy on the weekends so we normally NEVER go on the weekend, but today we thought we would beat the crowd by going early....HAHA!!!!! Not only was Wal-Mart full of Saturday shoppers, but then put in the mix of all those who were stocking up before the BIG snow...LOL!!!! The meteorologists are calling for snow and ice for our area on Monday and Tuesday, not that this couldn't happen. Let me explain, if you lived in south east Tennessee you would know we seldom get snow, and most often don't get the snow the meteorologists call for. You would also know that when they do call for snow, the whole city/state runs to the grocery stores for milk and really do these people think they would starve without milk and bread?! So, to say Wal-Mart was busy today was an understatement! Thankfully we were in and out with 2 buggies full within less than 2 hours. Our cabinets, refrigerators, and freezers are now fully stocked.

I wanted to share a few pictures of our last snow. I didn't get them posted because it was during our very busy time at the store and with all the holiday happenings.

We had a white Christmas, it was beautiful! This is the first white Christmas I have ever seen, they say the last time it happened in our area was in 1969...yep, before I was born:) We had about 5 inches in our area, and it lasted for 6 days...this never happens here, we normally do good to get a light dusting.

The first of the snow fall....

A snow ball fight on the trampoline, fun for some but not for all....a couple could dish out the snow balls but not take them! They learned quick that if you want to throw them, you have to be willing to receive them back ;)

Wesley enjoyed eating the snow, YUM!

Ah the snow was a first for Miss Ruth Ella....

she absolutely LOVED it, even when she fell and did a face plant in the snow!

Our hope is that the meteorologist are right that we will be blessed with snow again. Our family says......BRING ON THE SNOW!!!!!!!!!

You weren't born in '69. That is the year I graduated from high school.
I was at Wal-Mart after Sunday lunch today and it was getting crazy then, too. The bread and the soup aisle were about empty. It seem pretty busy but they assured me that Saturday was much busier! I, too, try not to shop there on the weekends. Weekday mornings are the best.

I see you still have the mat on your trampoline. We normally try to get ours off before winter but some years that doesn't happen!! And many times here in WI we get so much snow that the mat is nearly to the ground. Our kids love it anyway.

Yay for snow in TN on Christmas!! What a fun surprise for the kiddos.

Love your new sidebar pics. Cute blog pic on top - looks like you have 2 extra snowflakes for names! :-)

Looks like you had a very blessed Christmas.

Thanks again for checking in on me when I had been MIA for so long.

Ya, we had to chuckle when we heard on the news how the grocery shelves were empty in some stores in the states!!! Some Americans are serious about their bread and milk :) Hee Hee!!!!

Glad you had a white Christmas. Hope you get your wish of more snow!

Love to you all

I never understood the run on bread and milk either. My husband ran over to the hardware store to get some rock salt to melt ice. He said there were long lines of people buying the same thing plus sleds. I suppose folks plan to have lots of fun when the snow does arrive. Coming from Wisconsin, I don't get too overly excited about snow. I've seen plenty!
