SNOW...Yippee!!!!

We woke to a thick blanket of snow this morning, the children (and their parents) were thrilled!!!!

I don't believe it looks like a day for a swim, but a great day for sledding! But first things first, the boarding dogs at the store needed to be walked. We also had to leave messages on the answering machine, and our website telling of our closing.

(Lt-Rt Stephen, James, Amanda, Rebekah, Elizabeth, & Madison)

This was a little before 8AM this morning, our dog walkers were heading to the store to walk, feed, and water. We are so thankful we to live less than a half a mile from our store, this makes it very handy :) After walking dogs it was on to playtime, our 6 walkers went sledding for 4 hours after that.

Then later in the afternoon, the littles went out too. There was playing on the fort.....

A crew of boys and some snow eating.....

Snow angels and William catching snow flakes on his tongue.

A golf cart in the snow???

Arthur pulling the sled behind the golf cart.....

I'm not sure who had more fun the kids or Arthur.......

By seeing the smiles on their faces, it was a win win for them all!

Tonight after all the sledding and playing was over it was time for some hot cocoa, and marshmallows in several flavors....plain, gingerbread men, carmel swirl, and french vanilla snowman.

This evening Elizabeth, Amanda, and William made gingerbread cookies and icing.

We normally make these cookies at Christmas or New Years, but we never had time this year. Today seemed to be a great day for cookies to go along with our cocoa.

Then came time to decorate them....

Some made their cookie with lots of icing.....

Others with lots of candies.....

And Ruth Ella just ate her cookie plain.....

YUM.....the cookies were a hit, just like the snow! We had a wonderful day spent in fun and family time. Tomorrow our store will be closed again. So, I'm looking forward to another day of family time, and watching our children play in the snow.

Oh hey, that's a great amount of snow. Isn't it funny how children are so affected by a great snowfall. It's like a gift straight from heaven and delivered right into their hands. And as every kid knows, where there is snow, there is hot cocoa. They just go hand in hand! What a fun day for your family. I hope Tuesday is just as smily.

Wow! We woke up to some snow, but not nearly as much as you did. So fun! Our "big storm" is due in tonight..we'll see what we get. :)

Have fun...enjoy the cocoa and marshmallows. Love days like that. :)

looks like a lot of fun!!! I bet Arthur had a blast....I'm sure it was hard to tell who had more fun :) We have no snow (can't say that I'm disappointed) but it is cold here considering. The warm drinks and yummies look like a great way to end the day!!!

I didn't know that marshmallows could be bought in so many different flavors - - - but I rarely eat marshmallows so guess that's why I had not discovered that. We all are thankful to have some unexpected time at home - - with plenty of food and all the utilities working. It's the best scenario.

We got a bunch too! Yay for snow! :) Our little ones are still playing out in it... I'm content to stay inside, enjoying the warmth of our kithchen sipping cocoa. :)

Looks like lots of fun you had! I have to say being pulled behind a golf cart looks like lots if fun!!! I have never seen that much snow! And like Amy, we don't have snow but it feels like it could!
Great family day the Lord blessed you with!
BTW, how much laundry did that one day create?
