Today is 3/21.....WDSD

“World Down Syndrome Day takes place on 21 March every year. This date (21/3) represents the 3 copies of chromosome 21, which is unique to people with Down syndrome.”

“The aims of World Down Syndrome Day are to promote awareness and understanding, seek international support, and to achieve dignity, equal rights and a better life for people with Down syndrome everywhere.”

HAPPY WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY

WE SEE IT AS A HAPPY DAY, ONE TO BE THANKFUL FOR NOT ONLY OUR SON BUT FOR THE WHAT DOWN SYNDROME HAS DONE TO ENHANCE OUR LIVES! ON THIS DAY WE CAN CELEBRATE OUR SON WHO WAS GIVEN THAT LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA, WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE BLESSING JONATHAN IS TO OUR FAMILY! OUR FAMILY HAS A MUCH DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE, HAPPINESS, AND LOVE DUE WALKING HAND IN HAND WITH JONATHAN ON A DAILY BASES...IT'S A MUCH RICHER LIFE BECAUSE OF HAVING HIM IN OUR FAMILY. I OFTEN THINK WHY DID THE LORD FEEL WE COULD BE GOOD ENOUGH PARENTS TO THIS VERY SPECIAL BOY. WE ARE HONORED TO CALL HIM OUR SON.

Jonathan learned to swing himself this year, he loves to be outside with his brothers.

Swimming is his all time favorite thing, he swims like a fish!

By the way do you see he now has braces? Yep, he has braces on his top teeth :)

And he is truly a Goof!!!!

WE LOVE YOU, JONATHAN

Happy WDSD! So much to celebrate in the life of Jonathon. Oh, what a sweet blessing!

A friend of mine in High School had a brother with DS. I loved that boy. He was the sweetest thing, EVER! I enjoyed being in her home and spending time with him. He was very special. I often wonder what he is doing today.

blessings,
ashley

One of the sweetest young men in our church is a Down Syndrome's guy. He has a smile and hug for everyone and loves to sing the hymns.
I can see your little boy is a great blessing to your family.

Jonathan looks so good in his new braces. I love tht picture of him in the pool you can see on his face it is a very fun place for him. You are very much blessed by him indeed. Not sure if I ever told you about the woman that I knew when I was little that had down syndrome. She was one of the sweetest friends I ever had. Always looked at the inside of someone not the outside. It was always fun to be around her. One of those people that you will always remember.

Swinging is so much fun - - - feels like freedom of the Spirit. He will enjoy it almost as much as swimming.
