1, 2, 3................20!!!

March 1, Elizabeth turned 20!!!!

Elizabeth ask for a low key birthday at home, an adult birthday. We respected her wishes for an adult birthday, with no real theme...even though it was hard. We didn't hang balloons or streamers, yet, we could resist making things pretty with a few of Elizabeth's favorite things :)

The birthday tree...was decorated in flowers with a butterfly as the topper. From the time Elizabeth was very young she enjoyed the beauty of butterflies. She would often tell people her favorite animal was a butterfly. We would correct her that a butterfly wasn't an animal, it was so cute! Butterflies remain her favorite animal ;)

The table was simple daisy napkins, yellow utensils, and purple cups and plates. I know that someone cannot from birth have a favorite color, but if they could Elizabeth's would have been purple. When she began to talk and recognize colors she would always choose purple. Over the years she has branched out in the world of colors, but purple continues to be #1.

we had 3 types of cheesecake, purchased from an organic bakery made with natural sugars.

*Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake
*Plain Cheesecake with Strawberries
*Chocolate Cheesecake

Dinner Menu:

*Lima Beans
*Squash Casserole
*Baked Sweet Potatoes
*Strawberry/Grape Salad
*Cheese Bread

Elizabeth and her "Mini Me"...truly Ruth Ella is completely like Elizabeth. Arthur and I often remark that Elizabeth could never had a child of her own that is any more like her than Ruth Ella. They share a precious bond.

Time to make a wish...who needs a wish when your a follower of Jesus Christ?!? For we have ALL been given the ultimate gift, Jesus!

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!!!!

How easy it was to celebrate you! You were our first born blessing, and you continue to bless us to this day. You are a wonderful example to your siblings, a helper to your father, and my right hand. It has been a joy to watch you grow in body and spirit. You have such a zeal for Christ, His word, your family, and serving others. Your love for the Lord is evident with no words spoken. We pray for you daily, and look forward to seeing where the Lord takes you in the years ahead.

We You~
Mama & Daddy

Serve the lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.
