A quick project...

At the first of the year we were given an unexpected gift, a dining room table. I wrote about it HERE. We have enjoyed this table very much, and I know the family before us did as well. For the past several months we have used this table to eat all our meals. When we received the table we knew that the finish was a bit worn, mainly on the benches. One bench continually had a sticky feel so we sat Ruth Ella's booster seat there. The problem was that when we sat in that spot when the booster was moved we would stick to the bench! Not fun to get up with bench stuck to your backside :0 So, Arthur came up with a quick fix since we don't have the time to refinish the table and benches.

The bench before...

We found this cheery vinyl material at the fabric store, we thought the pattern would add some character to our table.

Arthur measured, cut, and then got busy trying to transform the benches...

Within no time our worn sticky bench had a new look and was ready to welcome sitters of all ages. It has now been a week since the benches were covered and they are holding up wonderfully. Again, what a blessing this dining table is to our family.

What type of home project have you or your family done lately?

I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God. Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

The 'bestest' Daddy in the world!

Our Father's Day to celebrate Daddy.....

Homemade cards....

Daddy and the Munck Kid Crew, we had a great day together.

We love you, Daddy!

Psalm 128
Blessed is every one who fears the Lord,
Who walks in His ways.

When you eat the labor of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
In the very heart of your house,
Your children like olive plants
All around your table.
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
Who fears the Lord.

The Lord bless you out of Zion,
And may you see the good of Jerusalem
All the days of your life.
Yes, may you see your children’s children.

Peace be upon Israel!

A new look....

For the past 2 years Madison has had braces, and as of Tuesday he no longer looks like this.....

Madison had his braces taken off.....

He was very excited and is enjoying being brace free!!!!

Now we only have Jonathan in braces, 4 down and we'll see how many more to go...Lord willing not all 6 younger children?!?

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

The seasons of life....

Over the years our family has had it share of
ups and downs,
twists and turns,
ins and outs.
We have also experienced
unspeakable joy,
unconditional love,
immeasurable grace.

Through every season good and bad the Lord has been our guide,
He has remained our rock and shelter.
We are so unworthy of all He has done for us.

With 11 children who range in age from 20 yrs down to 13 months,
it places us in a season of joy and blessings on many levels.
Our days are full and I often look up and think,
WOW, time does pass much to quickly.

I have much to share,
and as time permits I will....
And so will the children who are now going to blog here.
Please, know when the blog is quiet that we are soaking in family time in a busy season of life.
Thank you to all who stop by and visit,
it means so much to us as do your comments.

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace.

Welcome Summer

We have lots of smiling faces welcoming in summer, heat, the pool season, and fun!

There is a little girl in our home who is experiencing independence in the pool for the first time....

As you can tell from the picture above, Ruth Ella is enjoying the pool immensely!

The Munck Pool had a debut of the "2012 New Swimmer", he is our brave 5 year old boy Wesley! He doesn't just swim but does a host of tricks too.

You have set all the borders of the earth; You have made summer and winter.

Garden Goodness

Last week was sunny and dry,
this week we have had lots of rain....

When you mix that combination together you receive
a blessing of tasty proportions.

Bell Peppers

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

Ruth Ella is a busy girl who is full of energy. You won't often find her sitting playing with toys, because she would much rather be working. She comes along side us in our daily chores/task and is always eager to pitch in and help. Several days ago Ruth Ella announced to Elizabeth and I that she would make her bed. I then ask her if she thought she would need any help. She boldly told me "no", and then proceeded to tell me how to make her bed which direction to pull the covers, how to place the pillows, and how some of her animals go in her cubbie. Off she went to make her bed, awhile later she came out wearing a big smile on her face. She had accomplished the task in which she had set her mind to, and in her eyes it was just perfect!

Yet, this is what most would have thought,
The covers were pulled up but not all tucked in....

Her nap blanket wasn't folded and her sham was turned upside down, but placed in the right spot. She had arranged her animals in the middle of her bed, they weren't all lined up neatly.

I didn't see any of those things! What I saw was our sweet little girl who was driven by determination to make her bed, and that is just what she did. In my eyes her bed looked wonderful. I love Ruth Ella's spunk, zeal for helping others, determination, and love for her family. I pray that as she grows she will learn to use these things to serve the Lord.

Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this right.
