31 for 21....Jonathan & Elizabeth

(Jonathan and I in San Antonio, TX  this summer)

To him I'm Sissy and to me he's Johnny. We are only 6 years apart...yet the age gap seems much larger. I don't remember much of when Johnny was born. My parents took time to share with us how Jonathan was going to be different. God had a different plan for Jonathan. As a a six year old I was worried about little Johnny. I didn't like seeing Johnny all tied up with tubes and being taken away by nurses. I didn't like leaving Mom at the hospital, but I was glad she was there to stay with Johnny. Over the years Jonathan has grown and matured. He was always like the sunshine. His baby face would light up like the sun and I wish I could go back and hear his baby laughs. He still has that sunshine to him and he still laughs til he cries :). I'm glad God created Jonathan differently. We were all created for a purpose and we all have a calling. I know Jonathan is fulfilling his heavenly calling everyday. In his 14yrs.of life He has blessed mine daily. It's easy for me to feel sorry for Jonathan. I know there will be a lot of things in life that he will never get to try out or do. Yet through him I am reminded that joy does not come from the things that are temporary but the things that will last.
Johnny through my eyes...
Johnny is a hard worker. He loves to fold clothes and help out in the kitchen. He enjoys working outside, especially when a wheelbarrow is involved. He likes drawing people and writing the alphabet. Johnny is a little fish when it comes to swimming. He is a big music fan. In the car you might hear him singing along (in his version) as he shakes his index fingers. Johnny loves food! Any time we pass a restaurant he asks if we are going to eat there. When he walks through the kitchen he will pat his tummy and say "mmm smells good!". Johnny loves little children. He is very good with babies. I love to watch him play with Mary Ann. Johnny is big on giving hugs and shaking peoples hands. He is very outgoing and enjoys meeting new people. He also likes to introduce any family members that may have not met someone before. Johnny loves birthday parties. Johnny is a cut up and likes to tease. My favorite thing that Johnny does is pray. From the time Johnny could speak he would raise his hand to pray at bedtime or if it was an open floor to pray he would jump in. We and others can't always understand what Johnny is saying. It's when He's praying that I know his Ceator hears every word clearly and knows exactly what my Johnny is saying!

I could go on and on about Jonathan and the blessing he is to me and my family. He truly is special, I'm thankful he's my Johnny and I'm his Sissy.

"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new". And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful." Revelation 21:4-5

"He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
Revelation 21:7

My baby brother and I are five years apart and it seems a huge distance, too. I love hearing you all give the qualities of this sweet young man. He definitely has a great personality.
