Rain, Rain...

Yesterday, Miss Ruth Ella experienced another first....

Playing in the rain!

She was given this umbrella for her birthday by her aunt,
and was very eager to try it out.

Ruth Ella took about a 5 minute stroll in the rain,
and she was thrilled.
It's the little things in life that make the best memories,
and bring you joy!

In Ruth Ella's eyes there was no need for this song...
Because she was still allowed to play :)

A Pen Pal Visit...

 Last Friday ....
We had an overnight visit from my Pen Pal
and part of her family!
Cinnamon & I

Gavin, Cinnamon, Rosie, Grace, Granton, & John

In writing back and forth Cinnamon and I had talked of a visit when their family would be coming to Georgia to see Gavin graduate from boot camp/AIT. Well, as time grew closer she wasn't sure that they would be able to make the trip. Then to my surprise last week Cinnamon emailed and said they were indeed going to the graduation, and would be stopping off at our house on their way back home! Her sweet husband John drove a bit up, over, and off course to bring Cinnamon for a visit. We were excited to be having the Kerschner family for the night.

I was thinking today of all that we talked about and covered in such a short period of time. Even though we are Pen Pals it seems we still have lots to learn about one another. There is one thing that really sticks out in my mind that Cinnamon said while she was here, and that was..."Wow, you make me feel 'Normal'!" I took that as a compliment, because in life it's great to be around people who are real and just people, Themselves...Normal, just who they are quirks and all! Then I laughed, Normal...not sure we are Normal!?!?

Kerschner Family & The All Muncks
(Gavin took the picture)

 Yes, we live in Tennessee....
And we do own shoes

As any visit goes the time that the Kerschner family had with us was short, so we packed in a lot in less than 24 hours. We ate, shared stories past and present, cared for children, went to the Mennonite farm, Gavin taught us how to roll clothes like the Army does, and best of all Cinnamon and I sipped on tea while chatting. Yep, that was the highlight of the visit...talk & tea!

Hope we can do it again, until then we'll continue to write letters and be "Pen Pals"!

Ruth Ella's Birthday

Sunday, September 9......

Ruth Ella turned 3!!!!!!!!!

Since she and William have birthdays just a day apart Ruth Ella had been anxiously awaiting her "big" day. So, when she woke up Sunday morning she was ready to celebrate. The only problem was that we had decided to wait and decorate for her party while she would be taking a nap....after church!?! Well, she didn't understand and that morning while getting ready she ask me "did I miss my birthday"? I reassured her no, that we would have it after her nap. She then said "oh, I thought it had already happened". Love that sweet little girl! In hindsight we should have decorated the night before, and let her awake to her 'big' day. On to her day.......

Ruth Ella at breakfast, with her first present of the day a pink elephant with hearts. She loved it! She is way to smart because the first things she ask her Daddy when she saw it was "did you get this at Cracker Barrel"? And we did! Before she woke we went and picked up her favorite breakfast, Panera chocolate chip bagels. Then it was off to church and the church fellowship lunch. Once home it was nap for the little girls and decorating for everyone else. We had 2 hours to pull together a birthday "fit for Ruthie".

It was hard to hit on just one main theme for Miss Ruth Ella....

Our outdoors, farm loving.....

Animal enthusiast....

All G-I-R-L who thinks everything in should be PINK, even animals ;)

So, her theme was farm animals.....

And Pink Piggy sugar cookies, these were her favorite thing!

We had cupcakes with pink frosting, pink shimmer sprinkles, with animal toppers.

On the table we had peppermint and spearmint candies. Ruth Ella loves these candies, she holds them in her mouth for a minute or two then...Crunch, Crunch, Crunch-Gone!

Ruthie walked around and around taking in all the sights of "her" birthday!

Our Sweet Girl

The birthday menu...

*Baked Mac & Cheese
*Tossed Salad
with loads of fixins
*Rolls

Truly a little girls meal

This was after Ruth Ella opened her presents, she was given this little car seat for her baby doll. Her baby doll joined our family at Christmas, Ruth Ella named her Baby Angel. She goes everywhere with us, she has been to Canada, flown with us to San Antonio, attends church weekly, and anything in between...so she was in need of her our car seat. Rebekah made Baby Angel some clothes from Ruth Ella's birthday, and made them matching dresses. I think what Ruth Ella loves most about Baby Angel is that she sucks her thumb, just like Ruth Ella :)

3 candles.....

And a lot of blowing....

It was a very Happy Birthday for Ruth Ella!!!

Ruth Ella is such a "little lady", she keeps us on her toes with her adult like conversations. She is a "girlie girl" who doesn't mind getting dirty. She is quick to say please and thank you, and so thoughtful. We can't wait to see what this year holds for her, we thank the Lord daily for this little treasure named Ruth Ella Katherine!

Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You,
And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.

William is 8!!!!!

On September 8, William celebrated his birthday. It was his year of triple 8's.......

What is triple 8's?

*William was born on the 8th

*He is the 8th child

*And this year he turned 8

(We had some camera issues, so please excuse the poor quality on some of the pictures)

His theme was LEGO!!!!

William was in LEGO heaven on his birthday.....

His brothers also 'really' liked the theme, I believe a couple wished it was their birthday :)

To help spread out William and Ruth Ella's birthday we had part of William's party on Friday night.

The tree topper, a LEGO police officer which is a flash light...it's really neat!

This is William's favorite LEGO guy, because of the beard.

On Friday we had William's dinner and cupcakes....

Menu:

*Cheese Pizza
*Salad with all the fixins,
or at least the ones he likes
-Romaine lettuce, carrots, mixed peppers, cucumbers, feta cheese, sliced almonds, and for him Cesar dressing :)

Presents, this was the part William was going to have to wait for until Saturday, on his real birthday.

OK, so we did give him one gift on Friday night.....Davey & Goliath DVD set. After cupcakes we watched a few episodes :)

Twizzlers....William's favorite candy, Yum!

Chocolate cupcakes with buttercream icing and crunchy candy sprinkles........

There are so many things for a boy to wish for?!?!

On Saturday William opened his presents before lunch, and then we went out to eat at 'our' family favorite Cracker Barrel. William had a big hamburger and fries....that evening we finished off the LEGO cupcakes.

Now we look ahead to another year for William and all that he will be learning and taking in. We are blessed to have him as a part of our family....cause we wouldn't be complete without him. He is a joy to be around and is always wearing a glowing smile.

WE LOVE YOU !!!!!!

And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord;
It shall rejoice in His salvation.

Reflecting....

This morning as I was getting our day underway I looked over at the memory verse on our kitchen wall and thought it's time to post a new verse.
I then looked back at the verse.....
I began to reflect back to the day I chose that verse.
I wasn't sure why this verse stuck out to me so much, but it did,
so I thought it must be the one we all need to memorize!
This verse was written at beginning of August,
and my intentions were to have it up for about a week.

This verse has now been up for over a month.
Several different times in the past month I have thought about changing it,
but each time I felt that this verse was still "OUR"verse.

Over the past month I/we have seen this verse truly come to life,
it wasn't just a verse of scripture to memorize.
Over the summer while we were preparing for a wedding,
we had many people come alongside us to help.
The biggest help and support coming from our church family,
we valued their help and support.
Yet, what was the biggest blessing was seeing their support in action when the wedding was called off.
Our church family, along with family and friends,
were living out Galatians 6:2

They were truly bringing scripture to 'life' from the Bible,The Living Word!

How unworthy we are for His grace, mercy, and love.
How tremendously blessed we are to be a part of a body of believers who seeks to be His hands and feet!

We are in a steady pace of

B-U-S-Y

We are enjoying the ~busy~ in which we are in. We accomplished much last week, celebrated Labor Day on Monday, then it seems the rest of the week has just whisked by....

Is tomorrow really Friday? I know it is and now we are gearing up for a weekend full of birthday celebrating! Our 2 September birthday children are just one day apart...always making for lots of fun, food, and laughter :)

I'm trying to get back into the blog swing. I have a giveaway coming up that I'm excited about, and of course party pictures to come. I hope each of you have a blessed weekend.
