Homebound....

Ruth Ella on the mend!
Well, we are now almost 2 weeks in with Jonathan coming down with the flu, and on day 5 for Ruth Ella. I think in the almost 21 years we have had children we have never 'until now' officially had the flu. We have had lots of bugs and viruses, just not the full fledged flu...until now!

Jonathan is doing much better, he isn't 100% yet. His nose is starting to clear up, he had blown it so much that it was raw and red. His deep cough is starting to break up as well. We are excited to see him looking and feeling better.

Ruth Ella, this little girl has been sick, WOW, like scary sick! Yesterday was still a very bad day with fever 102-103 and a deep cough. She wouldn't eat much yesterday, and we had to really coax her to take in fluids. Last night she slept through the night, and woke feeling better....not fever free but better. Today she held a fever right at 101, and is still having joint pains. She drank more and ate some, she even got out of bed several times to check and see what everyone was doing. Late this afternoon she even had enough energy to color. We are thrilled to see her perking up, and illness beginning to fade.

Mary Ann was wishy washy yesterday. At one moment she was up and going the next she was whiny, she kept a low fever. She went to bed at her normal bed time but then cried on and off all night. Today was a day of low fever, a sweetie who needed cuddles, and wanted her pink night night. By bed time her fever was up to 102, so I'm thinking she is the next victim to this intrusive flu bug!

The flu has now hit 3 out of 13 of our family. When doing the math if it were to hit us all at the rate it's going it will be about spring before we are flu free...grrr!!!!  We are praying it stops here, and thanking the Lord for His hand being upon those who are sick.

Thanks to all who have stopped by to visit and prayed for our children, what a blessing you are.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!

Ouch, Jonathan's poor nose :-/ The green salve is great to put on skin that needs healing. When we put it on our kiddos it nearly instantly takes the pain away.

Aww, Ruth Ella is so cute, sick or not :-)

I'm thankful the kiddos are only having a fever, although that is scary too, and not croup with it. This is one time I'm glad we don't live near each other. Rosie had a temp too but it only last about two days. The croup seems to last about a week from start to finish.

I will keep praying that the flu stops here with Mary Ann. We don't need ya'll sick till springtime;-)

Praying for you too as you head into more cuddling and holding wee ones.

I will be keeping your family in prayer. We have been traveling down that same road of 'flu. So far 3 out of 6, with one doing a double. Feel better soon, lots of lemon tea.

Thank the Lord that those who were sick seem to be on the mend! Maybe Mary Ann's case won't be as bad, and hopefully the flu will be contained from the rest of the family. Hang in there!

Your poor children. I'm praying it doesn't pass through your whole family. We are on day three here and it seems like another one is about to get it.
