Terrible or Teriffic Twos?!?!

Mary Ann is 2....
She is a chubby lovable little tot.....
She can talk your ears off, sing you a song, maybe even dance,
and definitely have you belly laughing....
Oh the terrific part of being 2 :)
But be careful, don't let that sweet smile fool you....

Most would say Mary Ann  also has the terrible side of 2....
Oh that nasty sin nature!
She often looks like an unmade bed,
as in the picture above dress hiked up chewing on it,
she added an extra hair piece a headband which was worn on her forehead.
We must watch her close because she is fast,
and you never know what she may want to 'help' with....
like painting the walls in crayon, or helping her sister by underlining scripture in her Bible and doodling in her journal, trying to calm Susanna by swinging her 'high', she likes to help with laundry by mixing the dirty items with the clean basket that just came out of the drier, she enjoys sorting her clothes from her shelves by laying them all in the floor to stay, and she has been known to get the toilet bowl brush and clean the toilet!

Now being the Mama I have thought about the twos and
contemplated are they terrific or terrible? I would have to say even with all the added 'help' Mary Ann gives I still see the twos as terrific.  Yes, she gets herself into things, but it's nothing that can't be fixed. This is a time we have to focus on teaching Mary Ann what is 'real' helping and what is acceptable....
All it takes is time, attention, and  being persistent :)

Life is never dull, because Mary Ann brings loads of energy to each day...
Which this Mama loves, even with all her 'helping' :)

She sounds so much like Katie. Two is such a fun and challenging age. They are learning to process and figure out so much so fast. It's so hard to keep up with them. She's adorable and it's nice to know there's another mama out there with such a great adventurous helper. : ) hugs!

You described Mercy to a T. :) I would not change a thing. This past week she wore permanent marker on her arms and legs that would not come off! :) She takes off items and adds others to her self all day long. She writes in schoolbooks, tears pages in books but does try to help much like your Mary Ann. They grow so fast! We never doubt that today will be an exciting day and we are glad. (Usually!)

Your description of Mary Ann sounds so familiar! I love 2!!! I won't have a 2 year-old until January, but I can already tell that he is going to be a doozy. :) Mary Ann is a cutie. And happy belated birthday to Ruth Ella and William!!

We always love when our kiddos turn two. They can talk better and tell me what is wrong and they listen better. Our hardest ages are always between 12 months and 18 months. We celebrate when they turn two because training has finally kicked in :-)

Love Mary Ann's "style". I think it matches Rosie's to a "t" ♥

Now back to school ;-)

Oh love the glimpse of sweet Susanna!! We need a photo shoot of her.

{hugs} sweet friend ♥

Ahh, the 2 year old stage! My sixth child is the current 2 year old (the others are 12, 8, 7, 5, 4, 1, and 2months) and he's so happy to be 'big enough to help' but of course that means everything takes twice as long.

Yesterday was so cute though. He asked for a drink of water in a cup and two grapes. Then he dropped one grape, so he leaned over and tried to grab it as it rolled between his feet. The cup of water spilled all over the floor. He looked at me to see my reaction. I laughed. His next words, "I help you wash the floor!"

I love the twos. It is the three year olds that wear me out! :o) My little boy turns four next week. I am hoping it will be "magical". Today he cut his hair AND my curtains. Grrrrr.... I guess there is good and hard with each age!
Your little girl is adorable. :o)

She sounds like the perfect mix of our two youngest girls (4 and 19 months) both of whom wrote on the school room wall this week :(.
They keep us laughing, smiling, and on our toes!!!

Can you do a post of all of the birthdays? They seem so close, especially September. (When you get a chance, like you have nothing better to do, lol).
