Maple Syrup...yum!

Maple Syrup...I love it and it's all natural! If I haven't mentioned it before I'm a foodie...well, our entire family are foodies. We love to peruse cook books, magazines, Pinterest, we also enjoy gathering in the kitchen to create scrumptious dishes. What follows is the eating...yummmm!

On Friday the mail lady delivered a very special surprise....Vermont Maple Syrup, from our sweet friends. Thank you Ranney Family...what a treat!!!! Their family worked hard to  gather the sap and turn it into syrup. They blogged their experience, what a neat process.

We have done a bit of research on tapping trees and watched a few videos of the process. We plan to tag our trees this fall in hopes to tap them next year. We'd love to have fresh maple syrup right from our own trees....that's if we do it right?!?! I'm sure I'll be calling on the Ranney family for advice;)

Now we need to whip up a batch of waffles, drizzle them with yummy Vermont Maple Syrup and savor every bite:)

15 Passenger Vans

Our (family) van, next to, THE VAN!

You know we own a 15 passenger van, and have for the past 12 years.
It's roomy, and well, roomy...
And let's just face it,  it's the transportation of  most large homeschool families.
Our Ford van drives smooth, and gets us where we need to go....
And who cares about looks or gas mileage, since that's really not an option when you need something that can haul a big group around.
Then we saw this at Wal-Mart......

Oh, this is it!!!!!!
you know, the van of all vans....
4x4, brush guard,
BIG tires,
and a Cummins engine!
I could hardly believe it my kids called a 15 passenger van~ COOL!
OK, this was no ordinary van and I'll have to admit, it was impressive...
I wouldn't mind driving it ;)

Eating Crow

Eating crow, well, plain and simple it's just NOT fun! It can be very hard to choke down, and often times it feels as though it's completely impossible to digest!

It seems as of late I have had several meals of crow. You know I'm thinking I should have learned long ago to not say "never"....well, I guess I didn't learn! I haven't had to partake of the whole crow, more like a nibble here and a nibble there, either way it's not tasty! My pallet and stomach are screaming.....
"I hope you have learned your lesson now,
please don't subject us to any more crow!"

Over the course of the past year, we have encountered many changes....
With the change of life seasons, I began to see that one can't live a life of
"I'll Never" !
I boxed myself in by using those words,
which in the end gave me crow to eat~ Yuck!

Where am I today after the crow feast?
I'm grateful for the humbling crow eating experience,
however uncomfortable it was....
I'm different today and I'm happy to be free from the bondage that
"I'll never" placed me in.
