15 Passenger Vans

Our (family) van, next to, THE VAN!

You know we own a 15 passenger van, and have for the past 12 years.
It's roomy, and well, roomy...
And let's just face it,  it's the transportation of  most large homeschool families.
Our Ford van drives smooth, and gets us where we need to go....
And who cares about looks or gas mileage, since that's really not an option when you need something that can haul a big group around.

Then we saw this at Wal-Mart......

Oh, this is it!!!!!!

THE VAN....
you know, the van of all vans....
4x4, brush guard,
BIG tires,
and a Cummins engine!
I could hardly believe it my kids called a 15 passenger van~ COOL!
OK, this was no ordinary van and I'll have to admit, it was impressive...
I wouldn't mind driving it ;)

That is too funny! Love it. Except for having a hard time getting myself and the littles in and out I'd love it!

Emily, sometimes there is a price we are just willing to pay for "cool" haha!

Oh Laura! We were THIS close!! Our Sprinter is 10 passenger and we're going to outgrow it in a couple months. AJ was/is planning to replace it with this van and I have to admit, my sentiments are yours :-)
For now, we found a complete set of seats that match our Sprinter seats and AJ is working to install some of them and lengthen the usability of our current vehicle.
Who can't relate though, to the desire to not stand out by one more means? (unless of course, it's standing out by looking cool)*wink*

Hugs to you friend~

P.S. You should have left a note on the windshield: "Can we trade?" :-D

My husband and boys would get a kick out of that! We also drive a 15 passenger Ford van:) We've been van shopping and recently I called a dealer because my dad told me they had a van. I inquired whether it was a 12 or 15 passenger van, and when I found out it was only 12, I asked them to let me know if they got a 15 passenger van. The man was quite puzzled and wanted to know what I was going to do with it. I was like "um, drive it. . . drive my family in it"!! When he called back my husband answered and he asked him, too, what we were going to do with it! I guess no one must've ever bought a 15 passenger van from him to drive around their family:)

My 16 year old was in here looking at the van. He was very impressed!
I can just picture what it would look like if my boys were driving it ... they would find every muddy spot possible!!!

When we first got ours almost 13 years ago our insurance company would not insure it as a family van!
It did not matter how many times we said it was our family van. We finally got it straightened out by changing insurance company :).

We drive by a local college everytime we go into town who also have white 15 passenger vans. My husband ALWAYS gets flagged down in the middle of the night on his way into work during bad weather as the students think he is a shuttle. I actually had two young ladies pulling on the door handle while I stopped for people in a crosswalk. They were quite embarrassed when I said we were not a shuttle and they saw all those car seats. :) I think IF we had a van like THAT there would be no confusion. :)

When we were looking at vehicles last year on Craigslist we saw all kinds of different vans. One of my favorites was a chevy van from the late 70's low mileage and a wild flower print interior, my kids were convinced everyone would really think we were a bunch of hippies Ha!!! I think I saw this same vehicle the other day. Wonder who's it is, ha!!! The neatest and somewhat strangest vehicle I've ever seen was at the NCFIC conference. It was a Ford Excursion that had been customized into the LONGEST "limo" looking vehicle. They must have been staying near us and we couldn't ever figure out who it belonged to. I love looking at bigger vehicles on the internet!

Laura that is so funny! Our family got a good laugh! We too own a 15 passenger van and have for about 13 years! Ours looks pretty much like yours except silver! Just this past weekend our oldest set of children, the oldest 8, were going out to celebrate one of our grown sons birthday while I stayed and babysat the grands. As they were heading to their vehicles I told them they were more than welcome to drive the van so they could all go together. I thought it was a great idea...they did not have to worry about using their gas. Our oldest daughter looked at me with a "smile" and said, "Um, that's okay." What??? Pass up a great time in a van that just screams fun?!?!?! Oh well. It's my dream vehicle...4 wheels, drives and PAID FOR!!!

Thanks for sharing! Life is great!
